The Humanitarian Crisis in Ukraine
As the international armed conflict in Ukraine continues, the level of death, destruction, and suffering that continues to be inflicted on civilians is abhorrent and unacceptable. The conditions civilians are facing in Mariupol are becoming increasingly dire. People are living with no food, no water, no heat, no electricity. They need urgent respite from violence and humanitarian assistance.
Over 4 million people are reported to have left their homes into neighbouring countries, more than 6.5 million people still in Ukraine have been displaced from their homes, while hundreds of thousands more are trapped in cities desperate for a safe escape.
We beleive that the art community has a unique ability to help. Art has the power to bring people together, start conversations and drive action. That is why Art Peace is committed to focusing on local efforts to drive awarenss of the crisis in Ukraine and drive action for aid.
